About
Experience worship services that are engaging and relevant and that invite you to encounter the living God, to study and fellowship opportunities that encourage you to grow closer to God and to one another, and to mission and service programs that make a real difference in the lives of real people.
Vital and vibrant worship is at the center of our life together. Frederick Buechner says that to worship God means to serve God. He writes:
"Basically there are two ways to do it. One way is to do things for God that he needs to have done—run errands, carry messages, fight on his side, feed his lambs, and so on. The other way is to do things for him that you need to do—sing songs, create beautiful things, give things up for him, tell God what’s on your mind and on your heart, in general rejoice in him and make a fool of yourself for him…”
Growing deeper in our faith in God and connection with one another is essential as we walk the journey of faith. Inspiring people to grow in faith in God and in connection with one another is just as important as worshiping God passionately and reaching out to serve our neighbors.
Still, perhaps the most important work any faith community can do is to serve others—particularly the last, the least and the lost. There are a lot of civic groups that one might join who care for the environment, or provide health or human services or engage in a variety of other philanthropic activities. But we transform well-intentioned service into life-changing discipleship when we take time to celebrate, inspire and reflect on how serving others helped us to also serve God
