About
I received a MS in Counseling Education (community mental health) at McDaniel College, MD. I am a multi-cultural and diversity-sensitive licensed clinician who offers treatment mainly from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective; this modality is in sync with the Bible verse "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." I incorporate other modalities based on unique individual needs and presenting issues. In addition to being a professional counselor, I am a committed Christian and offer counseling from a Christian perspective to those who request such. Nevertheless, I endeavor to honor the belief system of others.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
As a professional counselor and a committed Christian, I found it impossible to separate the mind from the body, and the soul. It was and still is important for me to look at the mind (thoughts/beliefs), the soul (emotions), and the body (behavior) in treatment. That is why Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a framework of treatment makes sense to me.
I treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using exposure therapy (ERP).
