For more than 60 years, Boys Farm, a private residential home for children, has been “Building Boys rather than Mending Men”. Our mission is to offer a home exclusively for the purpose of providing a Christian, charitable and educational home, with love, training, understanding and guidance to meet the spiritual and physical needs of boys in need of assistance.
Boys Farm is beginning Counseling Services that will offer our clients:

Position Summary:
The counselor position at Boys Farm is threefold in that the position offers therapeutic, educational, and consultative services in accordance with Boys Farm, Inc. policies and procedures. The counselor’s primary duties to include providing professional mental health services such as individual, group and family counseling services to clients and significant others with at-risk behaviors and/or behavioral needs and educational/training associated with aspects of emotional and spiritual wellness for children. Work closely with a future EAS instructor incorporating equine interactions with mental health counseling aimed at achieving positive results in the areas of physical health, emotional regulation, and social well-being.
Flexible schedule, mainly afternoons, counselor will see 10 to 12 clients per week, the counselor is not considered an independent contractor. Possibility of working with other agency or private practice during the morning hours.
This is not a fee-for-service program, and no insurance billing will be required.

The Licensed Clinical Counselors will provide services on-site at Boys Farm, located at 6655 SC Hwy. 34/121, Newberry, SC 29108
Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.
Qualifications:
A master's degree or PhD in a mental health-related field of study, such as clinical mental health counseling, psychology. Must be licensed, or able to obtain a licensed in the state of South Carolina as an LPC/S, LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LPES, LPES-A, LISW-CP, OR LMSW, and must take continuing education courses to retain licensure
Working knowledge of infant and child development.
Provide various outpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery and flourishing.
Ability to work in collaboration with other professionals and agencies.
Provide family-centered case management planning.
Must have sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and function as a positive member of the Boys Farm team.
Work together with EAS instructor on activities that incorporate equine interactions and/or the equine environment, mounted or unmounted.
Demonstrated ability/experience in writing professional reports and correspondence.
Two (2) years-experience working with children who have therapeutic needs preferred but is not required.
Must be able to pass standard background checks, including drug screen, FBI, SLED, DSS Central Registry, and Sex Offenders Registry.
Mature and growing Christian actively involved in a community church.
Strives to maintain a close, daily walk with God.
Has a belief system and engages in faith practices and doctrines that are compatible with those of Boys Farm, Inc.
