About
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Purdue University and a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University. I have been in private practice for over 25 years and love what I do. I worked in the inpatient psychiatric unit for several years as well as in the school setting. I was a heart and kidney transplant social worker in the hospital setting for 8 years and have many years of experience in death, dying, and grief. I see individual adults ages 18 and older. I offer in person office visits.
I am trained and currently using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment in my practice, as needed. I am working towards Certification in this as well as in Trauma Therapy. I see clients with PTSD, CPTSD, grief, depression and anxiety. I am certified in Prenatal and Postnatal care, including newborn loss, miscarriage and infertility, postpartum depression and anxiety. I am a Christian and offer Christian counseling upon request. I work with those who are confused or angry at God and with those who have a great relationship with Him. I am passionate and honored to walk through your journey with you and believe that healing and growth is possible and so rewarding.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I grew up in church since very early childhood. My faith and personal relationship with God has gotten me through my own many trauma experiences from childhood. God, church and my personal relationship with Him has been a huge part of my adult life as well. As an adolescent I felt called by God to go into the counseling field because my high school guidance counselor and church youth leaders were so significant in supporting me through my most difficult and painful years. I have experienced deep healing with the help of God, my church and with the wisdom and support from therapists who have guided, supported and cared for me over the years. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing has also been a big part of my healing journey. I look forward to helping you heal and grow as well.
