Mara is a Ordained Minister of the National Conservative Christian Church, as well as a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association. Mara has earned her Masters of Arts in Christian Counseling-Summa Cum Laude-from Cornerstone University, she holds Advanced Certificates in Substance/Addiction Therapy, and Cognitive Therapy. Mara is a Certified Temperament Counselor, is trained in Drug & Alcohol Intervention by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc.She has done extensive research on and counseling for Dysfunctional Family Systems as well as “Unbound Ministry” model of freedom through Christ and “Into the Wildflowers”, recovery from sexual abuse.
We all know people who are in emotional pain for various reasons that cause destructive thinking patterns. This thinking can lead them to unhealthy relationships, all sorts of addiction and/or harmful even risky life choices that keep them stuck as victims of their circumstances. I guide them with biblical principles (using the word of God) to help transform the way they think, behave and feel to bring about mental, emotional and spiritual healing and wholeness.

Why I Became a Christian Therapist
I have always had a heart for those in emotional pain. While facing my own adversary and life difficulties, God used my life experience to challenge me to move beyond the hurt to help others. I chose healing for my life.
Not growing up in a Christian home or growing up with any faith, I believed I had to do life on my own, and I wasn’t doing a very good job. I was suffering in many areas. As I sought healing I found this God who loved me beyond measure and who wanted to heal, grow and change me. So I said yes to Him and my life had never been the same! Not only did I then feel called to be a Christian Counselor I wanted to share the answer to all of my problems: Jesus!
The true healing offered by our mighty God is a process of change where individuals improve their emotional, mental and spiritual health and wellness. While striving to make these improvements we are encouraged to live God-directed lives, as well as reach for our full potential in the dimensions of health, home, purpose and community. God’s plan for each of us is to experience spiritual growth, find freedom through Christ, and discover His purpose in our lives.
