God has given me a passion to come alongside those who are struggling in their walk with God while facing the difficulties of living in this world. Depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, relationship stress, and maladaptive ways of protecting ourselves in this world keep us from experiencing many of the realities that the Bible says can be ours in Jesus. When we struggle in these areas it can feel like something is wrong with us resulting in feelings of shame, worthlessness, and not being good enough. Often we feel we have to hide our wrestling. This can be a very painful and confusing journey. I would love to help you through this time.
I have over 20+ years of experience working in the Christian Context of therapy directing a Christian counseling center on a church campus. I have also worked with many church leaders, missionaries and para-churches leaders and spouses as they try to navigate the unique struggles of working or being a part of ministry. I would love to help you too.
I have specialized training in EMDR, Brain Spotting and ImTT. ImTT is a unique treatment that is a gentle approach in addressing trauma, depression and anxiety. This treatment helps to move therapy forward more quickly than just talk therapy. I am also trained in a number of Christian Inner Healing approaches that help clients realize the healing presence of Jesus in their lives.
I have my BS In Intercultural Studies from Biola University. MA in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling from Cal State East Bay. License MFT#38008 LPCC#341
My Fee is $185 for an individual 50 minute session.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
It was through personally ministering to others in their pain that God made it clear He wanted me to go back to school so I could do this at a professional level. When I was resistant to His prompting, confused as to why I would have to go back to school, I didn't want to go back to school - why couldn't I just continue helping others as I had been doing . . . I open the word for my time with Him and He had me read the following which I never recalled seeing before.
Isaiah 50:4 The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue to know the word that sustains the weary. . . He wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.
I realized His plans are higher than ours and His was than our ways. This has been a wonderful journey of deepening my love for Jesus and being better equipped to help His hurting children by His direction and leading.
