About

Dr. Chemarum earned her Psy.D in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She completed her clinical training at the University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and her pre-doctoral internship at Allina Health where she trained in the Child and Adolescent department. She also completed a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at Nexus Family Healing. She has worked in primary care clinic, hospital, residential treatment, school, and outpatient mental health settings providing therapy and psychological testing services.

Dr. Chemarum has experience in providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of mental health presentations including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, disruptive behaviors, psychosis, substance abuse, immigration stress/life transitions, and SPMI.

Her treatments are influenced by a client-centered/relational approach that empowers, acknowledges clients’ strengths and multifaceted experiences, and reflects their values, needs, and culture. Dr. Chemarum incorporates evidenced based interventions of acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), existential, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma informed, EMDR, and multi-cultural therapy in her work with clients.

In her free time, Dr. Chemarum enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, singing in church choir, and walking in nature.

Dr. Chemarum offers free 10-minute phone consultations. She is in-network with commercial Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, CIGNA, and Aetna.
