Christ-Centered Biblical Counseling
We have several highly trained counselors and several locations throughout Western PA. Through the use of scripture, prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit we help people remove the barriers to finding freedom in Christ. Counseling is available for all ages with issues including, relationships, depression, anxiety, sexualilty issues, addictions, spiritual issues, and trauma. We also offer trauma and attachment therapy for foster, adoptive and biological children.

Grace Christian Counseling hires mature Bible believing Christians who also have a strong clinical training and background. We integrate evidence-based clinical techniques with a strong understanding of scripture, prayer, and the working of the Holy Spirit.

Jason is a highly accomplished clinical mental health counselor with over a decade of experience. He specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Believing strongly in holistic wellness, he carefully integrates evidence-based treatments with Christian faith and spirituality. Jason's career spans roles from mental health counselor to regional clinical director, and most recently as a consultant to behavioral health organizations and investors. His recent consultancy work focused on developing and managing treatment centers nationwide.

He has a Masters degree in Professional Counseling and an MBA in Health Care Management from Liberty University. With a passion for higher education, he has also contributed to the addiction counseling field as an adjunct faculty member at Grand Canyon University.

Jason has published numerous articles in national magazines, including with the National Organization for Human Services.

Jonathan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the state of Pennsylvania specializing in Structural Family Therapy. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Pittsburgh, with majors in Psychology and Philosophy. He completed his Master’s degree in Social Work at California University of Pennsylvania. Jonathan has nearly 7 years of experience working attend Charter Oak Church - Crossroads campus in Greensburg, PA. He serves with the worship team. Jonathan plays the drums and leads worship occasionally at the church.

Jonathan is currently practicing in our Irwin location. He is available throughout the week (and possibly Saturdays) in the mornings, afternoons, and some evenings. He is seeing clients in Monroeville on Mondays, Irwin on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Bethel Park on Thursdays, and online sessions on Saturdays.

Maria has been working with children, adolescents, and families for 26 years. Maria earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. She then received her master’s degree in Counselor Education from Penn State University, Greater Allegheny Campus in McKeesport, Pa. She is currently pursuing a license to be a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania.

Maria began her career providing in home counseling to children and adolescents and their families, who were at risk of out of home placement for four years in a Wraparound service program in Westmoreland County. She then continued working with children and adolescents, who were at risk of out of home placement, and their families for 13 years in a Family Based Mental Health program. During this time, Maria was trained in Structural Family Therapy. She served in different positions including in home therapist, senior clinician, and clinical supervisor.

Gregg is a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor’s Degree in theology, where he had the life changing experience to study abroad in Rome, Italy. Upon his return to the U.S., Gregg decided to take a chance and follow his dreams where he moved to Los Angeles, CA, to pursue a career in acting and music. A life changing experience, lead Gregg to pursue a career in ministry where he attended Fuller Theological Seminary and earned a Master’s Degree in Theology.

After working in various Catholic and Protestant churches, Gregg felt called to work as a psychotherapist. In 2022, Gregg graduated from Geneva College with a Master’s Degree in counseling, specializing in Marriage, Family, and Couple counseling. Gregg has a trauma and family centered approach to his therapeutic style, though at his core he is eclectic and person-centered when it comes to working with his clients. Maryann is a graduate of Clarion University were she earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development (1983). Then she went on to earn her M.A. in Guidance counselor Education from the University of South Florida (1985) and a Doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary (2003). Maryann is now working on completing clinical hours for a state license in Pennsylvania. She was formally licensed through the National Christian Counselor Association.

Maryann has been in private practice for 20 years and has counseled adults and older teens with issues ranging from marriage/relationship problems, anxiety, and depression to bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder. As a Christian counselor, Maryann believes in the transformative work of Christ through the disciplines of faith. Adrienne Crist attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania (now Penn West Clarion) and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in Art. Adrienne continued her education at Seton Hill University and received a Master of Art in Art Therapy with Specialization in Counseling. She is working towards becoming a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the state of Pennsylvania.

Adrienne believes in the power of art to provide insight and recovery for individuals. She incorporates a variety of art processes in therapy as a form of communication and as a way to enact change in clients. Adrienne incorporates a Person-Centered approach by focusing on meeting the client where they are at, including all aspects of the client’s life in order to provide a safe and productive environment. Adrienne enjoys, but is not limited to, working with children and older adults, and those with spiritual needs.

Steph is a graduate from Geneva College with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. Steph is a wife, and mother to two sons who are 8 and 5. Steph is also very passionate about her Samoyed dog. He was truly her firstborn "fur" son who is now 10 years old. She is truly a "boy mom." Steph has a unique background with a previous career as a cosmetologist for the past 20 years with a focus on holistic and non-toxic professional hair services. It is this career that developed her passion for helping others and engaging with individuals on a one-on-one basis. Steph has so much compassion for women who are trying to manage and "do it all." Alexis has a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s of Arts in Pastoral Counseling, both from Regent University. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of mental health wellness, ministry, and non-profit work, and she is most zealous about increasing the accessibility of mental health services for those who need it most.

Alexis is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) professional organizations. She has experience in both the clinical and church-based environment working with children, teens, college students, adults, retirees/senior citizens, couples and families over the span of mental health concerns including but not limited to clinical symptoms, relational distress, faith exploration, emotional disturbance and behavioral adjustment.

Amy is a graduate of Penn State University with Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work from Edinboro University.

Amy began her career, and spent over a decade, working with troubled youth in residential treatment centers in California and Pennsylvania. She spent time in various capacities from activities coordinator, to program manager, administrator, house parent and counselor. After choosing to spend several years as a stay-at-home mom, Amy returned to work as a counselor in 2019 and is now pursuing her license as a clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania.

Amy uses a client centered approach and seeks to integrate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Narrative therapies, with faith and the truth of scripture.
