About
Hello and welcome! I offer mental health counseling to middle and high schoolers, as well as families with a special focus in suicide ideation, generalized anxiety disorder, perfectionism, and peer / family relationships.
I am a Christian who offers teen therapy with space for God to be in the room working for us in our time of need. I firmly believe Jesus aligns myself and the families I work with.
In teen therapy, we use psychoeducation to better understand what is happening and why it's happening. We will learn about topics such as anger as a secondary emotion or how our nervous system communicates with our brain in episodes of fight or flight and how this can be both useful and debilitating in life. I incorporate the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) technique to then better understand how our thoughts, actions, and feelings are all interrelated.
Sometimes it's hard to express what we need! I utilize a creative pool of techniques that also include talk therapy, painting, poetry, in-session journaling, games, and even theatrical reenactments to create the most effective experience for my clients.
*I have received a Bachelors in both psychology & sociology as well as a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, graduating with Honors. My Master’s education from Webster University is CACREP accredited which is considered the “gold stamp” of standards in the profession.
With my help, I will provide a safe space for your child to express and explore the underlying causes of the issues at hand.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
It has always been my prayer to help others with my time. My journey in receiving my Masters and opening my practice for teens began with a tug in my heart to follow God's plan for my life. I truly believe when you are inline with who God made you to be, you begin to thrive and your purpose is born. I look forward to connecting with you.
