My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
Dr. Elissa Jarvis was content where she was. She worked at a thriving group practice with a supportive team and the independence to provide Christian-integrated, trauma-informed care. Then, a problem began to arise. Dr. Jarvis ran out of space for new clients, and her waiting list grew longer and longer. Meanwhile, pastors continued to contact her, looking for trusted clinicians they could use for their parishioners. As she searched for other therapists who could be a good fit, she struggled to find counselors who provide evidence-based care, work from a biblical perspective, accept insurance, and have availability for new clients.
This juncture is where Integrity Counseling Collective was birthed. God gave Dr. Jarvis a vision for a group practice where Christians could find high-quality, accessible counseling services. Integrity Counseling Collective would be a safe space where Christians could receive help without fear that their faith and convictions would be questioned or invalidated. As a result, it would become a valuable resource for local pastors, as well as believers across the United States.
