Choosing a therapist or a life coach isn’t easy, and you need someone who sees your value and has hope for you when you can’t. My hope comes from my belief that we were all created carefully by God and my experience of watching people heal, grow, and change over the twenty-plus years I’ve been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have worked with people in a wide variety of circumstances, from dealing with the standard trials of life to debilitating mental illness. My professional background includes experience in inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, hospice bereavement, college counseling, life coaching, adoption, and counseling in a private Christian agency. I work with people with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, boundary problems, poor self-image, grief, chronic illness, lack of confidence, and adult ADD.
My approach is eclectic and tailored to the needs of each individual, but it always involves compassion and practical tools. God created us as wonderfully complicated creatures with minds, hearts, spirits, and bodies that were made to work together. What does that mean in the counseling process? It means we work to heal emotional wounds, reset thought patterns, draw on your faith (even if it’s severely lacking in your time of crisis), approach relationships in a healthy way, and use the mind-body connection that God created you with. I use evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive-Behavioral, Emotional Freedom Technique, and everything in between in order to do that.
In addition to counseling and life coaching, I also provide both individual and group supervision for Limited Licensed Professional Counselors as they work toward their full licensure.
