About

I am passionate about helping marriages, couples, adults, parents and teenagers thrive through creating meaningful connections and cultivating hope and healing in their lives. I love blending the best of science using evidence-based techniques with the depth and insight of the Christian faith to bring about transformational change in people’s lives. I am trained in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Restoration Therapy (RT), and SYMBIS. My specialities are couples/marriage counseling, families, parenting, teens, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational issues, grief, OCD, premarital counseling, and Christian counseling. As a wife for 26 years and mother of three, I understand the challenges of navigating life transitions and dealing with difficult situations as a couple, a parent, and an individual. I consider it a sacred privilege to walk with my clients toward health and healing. I would love the chance to work with you and walk with you on your healing journey.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

Prior to her counseling career, Karly graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois with a B.A. in Education and worked as a professional educator in both public and private school settings over a span of 23 years. She has also been assisting her husband, Pastor Paul Sorensen, in church leadership and pastoral counseling since founding ONE Fellowship Church ten years ago. Karly has led educational groups and given lectures focused on marriage and parenting, as well as weekly groups and weekend retreats focused on women’s issues.

Through her many experiences as a therapist, an educator, and a church leader, Karly has developed a passion for helping families, couples, and individuals thrive through creating meaningful connections and cultivating hope and healing in their hearts and homes.
