I have experience in offering CLINICAL GRADUATE STUDENTS the therapy required by their chaplain and counselor programs.
As a CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR, I respect your unique strengths and growing edges. Your life journey holds gifts and challenges that become the fabric of our work together. You bring to each session the spiritual, emotional, social, and cognitive unity that is you, and through patient listening and conversation, you teach me what you need to reach your unique needs. Throughout the therapeutic process we dialogue about ways to reach and maintain goals, and we celebrate each small victory along the way.
As a trained PASTORAL COUNSELOR, I am sensitive to a client's desire to include or not to include faith during counseling sessions. If my client wants the inclusion of scripture, I work to find the relevant and encouraging balance of scripture and clinical skill to reach individual goals. I utilize the wisdom of both Hebrew and Christian texts in my work, and I have a diverse practice that includes persons from many cultures and major world faith traditions.
My TRAINING includes MS classes in Marriage Counseling, Bereavement Counseling, Adlerian Theory and Practice, and Adolescent Therapy. Since graduation, I have focused on post-master's training in Marriage Counseling. I was pleaased to do CEU work with David Burns in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and with researcher and therapist Jennifer Able, PhD in the behavioral treatment of Anxiety Disorders. You may be interested in researching their systems online for clarification and further information.
I have been in PRACTICE for 14 years as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with memberships in in the American Counseling Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I am a National Board Certified Counselor.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
It has been my happy experience that God works in and through those of us who seek his guidance. As someone who is consistently reaching for more wisdom from scripture through my daily devotional, and as a woman who has many years of church training and many years as a Bible Study teacher, I am learning that God is able to use me to help others. I pray for my clients, and I pray for God to guide me with insight and discernment for each client.
