About
As far as anyone knows you are successful, intelligent, and hard working. But underneath that surface is someone who struggles with fears, phobias, nervous feelings, and constant worries. Christians are usually handed bible verse after bible verse of helpful scriptures for peace, love, and the love of Christ. But end up still worrying. Anxiety has a physical effect on your body and can cause muscle tension, stomach aches, and headaches. My clients have anxiety when in public (social anxiety), anxious feelings when separated from loved ones or caregivers (separation anxiety), or they spend a lot of their time thinking about their worries. Anxiety can also come in the form of obsessions and compulsions. Many of my clients also have a past history of traumatic experiences.
My clients are hoping to find peace and to end the noise in their head. They are hoping to find a plan to live with anxiety and to learn healthy ways of dealing with stress and anxiety.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I wanted to offer Christian Therapy, as I wanted Christians to feel comfortable expressing their faith in their therapy sessions. I wanted people to feel comfortable seeking comfort through prayer and bible verses. But also wanted to offer a safe place for people to explore their mental health challenges through a faith lens.
I am currently offering telehealth sessions for residents of Michigan and North Carolina. I offer in-person sessions in Jackson, Michigan.
Please note there is a yellow lab therapy dog named Ellie in the offices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Nondog people are welcome to come anytime via telehealth or on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thanks!
I am In-Network with BCBS. If you have another insurance you can pay me, receive a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
