About

A Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada, since 1990, Jim Weibelzahl has worked within the counselling field for over 40 years. He has a significant background in Community Corrections and Family Justice. Jim attained a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from UBC and studies at the doctoral level in Counselling Psychology at CalSouthern University. Jim has extensive training in several modes of therapy, including Person-centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Satir Systemic Family Therapy, Family Relations mediation, as well as trauma and occupational trauma recovery. As a therapist, he works with individuals, couples, families and youths within a brief therapy framework that integrates solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, person-centred, and family systems perspectives to treatment and is comfortable working with a broad range of mental health and social-relational problems. He enjoys being a witness to the change process and views his role as a collaborator in client transformation as a deep privilege. For eleven years, Jim taught psychology at Trinity Western University as a sessional Professor teaching Abnormal Psychology and Positive Psychology.

Patrice has been a registered clinical counsellor for over 30 years. She focuses on facilitating greater coping strategies, self-awareness, and deep-level change. Primary areas of practice include dealing with traumatic exposure, depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship concerns.

Patrice has her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Adler University. Additional extensive training in traumatic stress interventions and treatment (certification), occupational injury, family systems, and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has helped her hone her skills. Patrice is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which can augment the process of breaking through entrenched beliefs or to process negative experiences.

Patrice has developed a creative cognitive behavior approach to facilitate the identification of faulty thought patterns and distressing emotions. She is publishing a children's book, 'Solution Detectives' to aid parents, children, counsellors,
