Hi, I’m Amy Weiskirch, owner and therapist at Powerful Living Counseling. I”m passionate about empowering adults and couples with their midlife struggles. Midlife can be a time of profound change and introspection. It’s a period when many of us question our life’s direction and yearn for something more meaningful. If you find yourself at this crossroads, you’re not alone. I understand the challenges you’re facing. I’ve personally navigated the complexities of midlife, and know firsthand the emotional pain, confusion, and uncertainties you may be experiencing. Years ago I found myself at my own crossroads in life. I remember feeling anxious, alone, and afraid. I began my own midlife counseling journey and it led to healing and growth. I want to help you do the same!
SERVICES I OFFER
If you are experiencing any of these concerns—empty nest syndrome, midlife identity crisis, caring for aging parents, menopause, new health related concerns, gray separation/divorce, retirement/career stress, raising your grandchildren, bringing home a new baby at age 40 or after, communication struggles in your relationship, trouble reconnecting, or your own unique midlife struggle, I can help.
HOW I HELP OTHERS
As a person-centered, psychodynamic talk therapist, I offer a blend of warmth, deep empathy, and acceptance while we focus on your unconscious thoughts, uncover your early experiences, explore your core beliefs, and understand your unique personality style through assessments, activities, and conversation. I offer you a comfortable and confidential environment, as I listen to understand you and your specific life situation.
I offer in-person and online counseling for adult individuals and couples in Kansas. If you are a person of the Christian faith and would like to integrate your faith perspective into our counseling sessions, I am equipped to do this. I was trained by the highest academic standards through a Christian Worldview at MidAmerica Nazarene University, and this allowed me to integrate psychology and faith. I am not a Biblical or Christian Counselor, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor that is also a Christian. I offer the most up-to-date psychological counseling theory with the ability to take into consideration your spiritual beliefs and how it affects your life, and helps to promote your emotional well-being. If you are a person of another faith, or of no faith, I welcome you as well, healing and wellness is my goal for you,
MY EDUCATION
I have a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from Park University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University, CACREP accreditation (excellence in counseling education) with emphasis in Marriage, Couple & Families. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and a member of Chi Sigma Iota (Honor Society).
FEES
My fee is $140 for a 50 minute session.
In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a lower fee. Sessions are private pay and due at time of service with all major credit cards, health savings account cards, cash or check. I am happy to provide a super bill for help with insurance reimbursement.
