About
Graduating from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. in 1980 I was ordained into the Central Association of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ. I served as Associate Pastor for two churches in this area before earning my Master of Social Work degree from Boston University's School of Social Work in 1987. I have been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for over 25 years. In my practice, I help individuals and couples understand how their past may be contributing to present life troubles and unhappiness. Using mindfulness, spiritual disciplines and traditional therapy we address this so clients can move forward into a better, well-rounded life. I also focus on anxiety and depression utilizing God's word as an important tool, along with psychological insights, to manage such. I enable couples to discern comparability and communication issues in their marriages so that they might improve their family life. In addition, besides Christian counseling and psychotherapy, I offer faith based spiritual direction. Ultimately, I work as a representative of Christ's promise that we should have joy and that our joy should be full.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I first felt God's call to the Parish Ministry. Upon falling in love and marrying my wonderful husband, who was both an Anglican priest and a psychologist, we embarked on creating a home and family. God presented me with the desire to both serve others and still be capable of raising our four children, two of whom has special needs. He answered this call by leading me to understand that working with individuals in a faith based practice provided for obedience to both calls. Now that my children are grown, I find that the Lord certainly put me on the right path so many years ago as I continue to love my work and find daily fulfillment in caring for others in this particular focus.
