About

We are a collaborative group of licensed counselors who draw from many different schools of thought—including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral approaches, and attachment theory. We are also deeply committed Christians who believe that the best of psychology and the best of theology are both important for helping people discover freedom and transformation.

Although good advice and coping skills can sometimes be helpful, our primary goal is to provide a safe place for you to unpack your story, along with a steady curiosity over areas where you have shut down or let your heart go into hiding. As we walk towards healing those places, we will help mark the space where God wants to meet you and lead you into new areas of growth and transformation in your life.

My passion is to lead men and women through seasons of transformative growth that enable them to live into their world with impact and to bring hope and healing to others. I currently serve as the Director of The Journey Christian Counseling, as well as on the pastoral staff at Crossroads Bible Church as the Men’s Pastor, and part of the counseling and care ministry. As a pastor and counselor, I have spent the last 20 years of my life walking with people through all kinds of personal and relational concerns, struggles and trauma. I have particular experience and interest in men’s issues, freedom from sexual addictions and sexual abuse recovery. I have had the privilege of leading groups of all kinds and have developed a love for guiding wilderness retreats for men and fathers and sons. My hope is that you will find TJCC to be a clinically relevant, client-centered, and relational environment where you can be cared for and find healing.

Are you at a point where you know change is necessary? As humans, it is completely normal to go through struggles, face disappointments, or traumatic times in life. We can feel lost and alone.  Having a non-biased, trusted person to talk to can be an invaluable source of strength and hope to move forward from what's not working and create lasting changes for yourself and your family.  It is my passion to help you achieve your goals, and find healing, while discovering new potential for a meaningful life.

Our lives are stories that we are coauthoring with the Divine author. My goal in counseling is to come alongside my clients to explore their stories as well as to assist them in making positive changes for a healthier well-being. As we create a trusting relationship, my unique giftedness of curiosity will help us explore those areas in which we have decided to work on together. No matter what diagnosis or issues you are facing, the best resources you have are your relationships. Therefore, relationships are key, not only in this office, but also in your familial, social, and career life.

The capacity to be with people in the moment while they share their burdens is what I am most passionate about. I desire to walk alongside of women dealing with emotional pain and suffering who could benefit from processing their emotions in a supportive environment. Life comes with challenges that we are not meant to face alone. Finding a therapist that you connect with can bring hope and healing. The first step in getting the help you need is reaching out and I would be honored to be a part of that. I approach my clients with an open mind and am accepting of where you are in your journey. As someone who has clinical experience in a variety of settings, I am able to empathize with people from all walks of life.

Every person is uniquely and wonderfully created by God. In our uniqueness we can sometimes get stuck. I am passionate about walking with individuals as they work to get unstuck, find healing, and find their path to living a fuller life. I have served as a pastor for the last 7+ years and a prison ministry chaplain for the past 2+ years. Through pastoral care I have spent considerable time walking with couples as they work through various concerns. I have spent much of my chaplaincy working with men struggling with addiction, identity issues, and faith issues. I have lead marriage enrichment groups, spiritual enrichment groups, and addiction groups. As a parent of a child with special needs, I also have a heart and understanding for the unique struggles parents and families face when caring for a family member who has special needs.
