Hi! I am Dr. Brenda Marciniszyn or Dr. Brenda. I am a Licensed, Ordained Minister and a Licensed/Ordained Clinical Christian/Pastoral Counselor with a PhD Degree in Clinical Christian/Pastoral Counseling. I am a serious Christian who loves the Lord and studies His Word. I have counseled adults, teens and children from all walks of life and have seen God do amazing things to those who look to the real source of life. I am not state licensed as my "practice" is a ministry, not a business. State laws limit counseling on a "religious" basis and are not open to praying with the client or reading of Scripture. I believe Christian counseling is more effective because our Creator is part of the healing process and leads to intentional discipleship. My ministry is problem-oriented coaching.
My ministry requires a one time fee of $50 at the first session to cover the cost of a Temperament Profile. As this is a ministry, there is a only a $35 donation per session, except for non-cancelled appointments within 24 hour notice or No Show sessions, which is $60. A policy of my ministry is given at the first session. I accept cash and checks. (Sorry I am not set up to do credit cards yet and no insurance companies are involved.)
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
When I was young I wanted to become a psychiatrist, but over the years I buried that dream. After accepting Jesus as my Savior and Lord and turning my life over to Him, that dream became alive in me again, but I knew God had a better plan for my life. I enrolled in a local Bible school and from there I went on to obtain an Associate Degree in Counseling, a Bachelor Degree, Master's Degree and onto a Doctorate Degree in Christian Counseling and at last my PhD. I have been counseling since 2004 and am a member of the National Christian Counselors Association and Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling. I am ordained by National Conservative Christian Church and through College of the Open Bible. Anything is possible when you allow God to have His way!
