About

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate at Lacamas Counseling. My core belief is that every person I meet has worth and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. As a former teacher, I know the value of an encouraging word and the purpose of a well-placed challenge. It is not unusual for a counseling session with me to bring tears and laughter held within a space of ongoing certainty that each client is far more capable than they may realize. My eclectic blend of counseling theories, influenced mainly by Adlerian and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is geared toward what the client needs to grow while utilizing their strengths, values, and goals in the therapeutic process. It is through the lens of Biblical truth guided by the Holy Spirit that psychology and theology intertwine in my sessions.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Western Seminary in 2023. I also hold a Bachelor of Music Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. My certifications include SYMBIS and Prepare/Enrich Pre-Marital counseling, and I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Couples Therapy training. I am also a certified life coach and enjoy implementing solutions-focused brief therapy techniques in sessions with more action-oriented clients. It would be an honor to walk along with you on the therapeutic journey to becoming who you were created to be!

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

Becoming a Professional Christian Counselor is a calling I hold close to my heart. I see every human as created in the image of God, deserving of compassion and respect. The enemy of our souls seeks to pull us down, yet it is my mission to uplift and support those in need. I treat all my clients according to their beliefs, not my own, ensuring a respectful and understanding approach. I believe that the Church must address crises of mental health among its family members, as it is crucial for spiritual and emotional well-being. I love people and know the pain of wondering where God is. It is my greatest joy to sit with others as they face the pain of this world and find the strength that is found in Christ. This journey allows me to witness and support the transformation and healing that only faith can bring.
