My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice

Though a Christian counselor, I am trained in professional counseling, equipping me to pass on skills I've learned over the years to clients. However, what psychology lacks in that it only has some truth, Christian based counseling makes up for in directing us to the source of healing, which is Jesus. Therefore in my practice I focus on a client's history (issues that could be still affecting a person's behavior in the present), relationship styles and how that plays in to any maladaptive relationship patterns, and generational components (things passed down). I base methods I use in therapy (Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness Behavioral etc. on scripture as a foundation.
